Hong Kong Investment in Britain
Thank you for your letter of 5 May. Home Affairs Branch have prepared an analysis of the recent spate of advertisements seeking to attract Hong Kong investors, in many cases by suggesting that some form of permanent resident status will be available to those who invest money in a variety of countries. I enclose a copy. There has been some discussion locally of these advertisements, centering on how reliable the promises are likely to be. There seems to be a healthy degree of scepticism. The British advertisement has not, to my knowledge, been singled out for specific comment.
ever
Yours
Richard.
