As you know, following the Prime Minister's visit to
Peking last September we have been talking to the Chinese
about the future of Hong Kong. It occurred to me that it
might be useful if I were to bring you up-to-date on these
contacts, on Privy Councillor terms. If you would like this,
perhaps your office could be in touch with mine about a time.
We might perhaps meet in my room in the House for a few minutes
one day soon.
