The PUS had lunch with the Chairman and directors of Inchcape one day last week. One of the directors, Mr D R Davies, seemed rather negative about investment in Hong Kong. He maintained that Hong Kong was no longer a place in which it was sensible to invest and that very rich Chinese were 're-insuring like mad' by moving funds elsewhere, eg to Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and Australia. This view, however, was not necessarily reflected by Sir David Orr and others present.
