VISIT OF GOVERNOR OF HONG KONG TO LONDON - JANUARY 1984
1. The Bank of England have asked whether Sir E Youde could see the Governor of the Bank of England while he is in London. Their strong preference is for 13 January, since Mr Leigh-Pemberton will not be in London the following week. On 16 or 17 January the Deputy Governor Mr K MacMahon, would have to see
Sir E Youde instead.
2. I have said that the meetings for 13 January are still being fixed and depend upon decisions by Ministers. We would however try to fix a meeting. Please bear this in mind. We should inform Mr Elston in the Bank of England, extension 4265.
