Article 3.1. In order to benefit from the regime provided for in the previous article, the foreigner, besides the residence permit in Macau, must comply with the requirements of sub paragraph b) of art 32 of Decree-law No 264-B/81 of 3 September, by proving the means of subsistence in Portugal in investment bonds, in accordance with the provisions of the following section.
2.
In relation to the previous section, a list will be fixed by decree law, which may be revised annually, specifying the different forms of investment authorised, amounts, areas of activity and other conditions.
3. The investment bonds referred in No 1 may consist alternatively of the purchase of treasury bonds, holding of capital bonds in Portuguese shareholding companies, participation in investment societies, ownership of buildings or other forms of investment in Portugal, in accordance with the terms and quantities specified in the decree mentioned in the previous number.
4. At the request of those involved, and if the decree mentioned in the previous sections has not yet been published, the conditions considered sufficient to meet the requirement mentioned in the previous sections may be defined, after consulting the Governor of Macau and through a joint bill of the Prime Minister responsible for relations with Macau, and of the Minister of State and of Finance and the Plan and the Minister for Internal Administration.
5.
The requirement of investment bonds mentioned in No 1 may be replaced, for a period of up to 1 year, by the deposit of a certain amount of money in foreign currency, at the Caixa Geral de Depositos, the conditions and value being fixed under the decree mentioned in Section No 2.
6. The transfer of the bonds referred to in Section No 1 implies the non-renewal of the residence permit, under the provisions of art. 35 of Decree-law No 264-B/81 of 3 September, or its loss, under the provisions of art 37 of the same decree-law, unless the person involved replaces the bonds by other forms of investment or conditions provided for in previous sections and defined in the respective decree-law or if he has met the requirements of the general regime of that decree-law.
Article 4. For all the purposes provided for in this bill, the foreigners who already have residence permits in Macau may contact the adequate services of the administration of the territory, which will contact the Foreigners Service, under the terms of a special bill.
