This may be by birth, registration or naturalisation in a dependent territory or by descent from a person born, registered or naturalised in a dependent territory. practical terms the introduction of BDTC did nothing to alter the immigration status into the UK of persons who acquired that citizenship. The British Nationality Act 1981 did
nothing to alter the immigration status of any person who -previously held citizenship of the United Kingdom and
Colonies.
