Have BDTCs the right of abode in the United Kingdom
and other existing Dependent Territories?
Generally speaking British Dependent Territories Citizens
have the right of abode only in that dependency from which
they derive their citizenship.
2. Do any British Dependent Territories Citizens also
have the right of abode in the United Kingdom?
Those British Dependent Territories citizens who also
hold British Citizenship have the right of abode in the
United Kingdom. Additionally British Dependent Territories
Citizens of Gibraltar and the Falkland Islands have free-
dom of entry to the United Kingdom by administrative con-
cession.

3. What effect have the Hong Kong, Gibraltar and Montserrat
ordinances had and how have they changed the position prior
to them?
The ordinances were introduced only to ensure that the
provisions of the British Nationality Act 1981 were taken
into consideration in local law and have had no practical effect.
