PRIVATE MEMBERS' MOTIONS: FRIDAY 15 APRIL
Thank you for your letter of 13 April about the motions which Ivor Stanbrook and Peter Temple-Morris have tabled for 15 April.
I understand that Ivor Stanbrook has been in touch with you about the terms of his Resolution, which I hope has given you an opportunity to ensure that it is acceptable. I also understand that he hopes the debate on his motion will occupy all the time available on Friday, though I imagine Peter Temple-Morris might press him to allow some time for his Motion on the Middle East. In the light of what you say in your letter about what the debates might cover, the best course seems for Ivor Stanbrook's motion to be talked out. If Peter Temple-Morris's motion is reached it, too, should be talked out.

I am sending copies of this letter to members of Legislation Committee, to Irwin Bellwin and Patrick Mayhew (who have an interest in the third Motion on 15 April) and to Sir Robert Armstrong.
