G. SUMMARY
The prisoner was born in a rather well-to-do family in Rangoon, Burma. In his upbringing, he received due parental care and guidance and was all the time enjoying peace and harmony at home. In 1967, as a result of the local Anti-Chinese movement, he and his elder sister returned to their native place in Foochow, Fukien Province, China. Prior to them his grandmother, father and elder brother had returned to Foochow whereas his mother, eldest brother and younger sister stayed behind to take care of their business. Despite the interruption caused by the Cultural Revolution in China. he completed his primary and elementary secondary education in his native place. The emigration of his father to Hong Kong in 1970 and the death of his grandmother in 1972 caused him and his elder siblings to come to Hong Kong to join their father. His elder brother came to Hong Kong in 1972 while he and his elder sister came in September, 1973, At first, he lived with his elder siblings in Tsuen Wan, N.T. but later moved out to live in the dormitory of Wheelock Textile Company Limited in late 1974. In the same year, his mother, eldest brother and younger sister closed their restaurant business and planned to come to Hong Kong. However, they were not allowed to stay. They then went to Macau and settle down there. In the following years, the prisoner stayed with his friends here and there in Kwai Chung and Tsuen Wan.
He claimed to have worked at various factories but no confirmation could be made due to insufficient information. He alleged that he had led a lax and loose pattern of living in these years.

The prisoner claimed that he was invited by the co-accused whom he had known for four years to Ah Wun's residence somewhere at Ngau Tau Kok, Kowloon on 17.10.1979. With the assistance of Ah Ming and two others, he kept WONG Hon-kwai, alias Ah Kwai, in Ah Wun's residence from 17.10.1979 to 19.10.1979. Then, he accompanied the deceased in a car with persons known as Ah Lam and Ah Ming to fetch the sum of $16,500, money involved in the trafficking of dangerous drugs or things for mortgage which the deceased had agreed to compensate Ah Wun. They first went to Mong Kok, Kowloon but the deceased failed to get any money nor things for mortgage from home. Later, they went to the scene as the deceased had proposed to borrow money from a friend living there. The prisoner claimed that the decească assaulted him soon after alighting from the car. He then made for his escape back to the car, after Ah Lam and Ah Ming came up and fought with the deceased. When the latter returned to the car they were seen with blood on them. He stressel that he had not caused any injury to the deceased against whom he had borne no personal grudge. At present he is awaiting an appeal and he wished that his death sentence could be commuted. Calm, responsive and co-operative in the course of enquiry, the prisoner impressed the investigating officer as a materialistic young man who does not care about his future. As a person, he was described to be tame, timid, submissive, mild in disposition, sociable and playful.
