In support of this Humble Petition Your Petitioner

humbly requests that Your Excellency takes into consideration

the following matters

(i) Your Petitioner is now aged 30, was born in Hong

Kong and has continuously lived in the Colony ever since

and received secondary education in Hong Kong.

(ii) Your Petitioner did not commit any offence before

committing the charge of Murder which he was convicted

on 24th September, 1979 in the High Court of Hong Kong.

(iii) Your Petitioner strove to earn an honest living

and had worked as a goods inspector in R. & A. Millett

(Shops) Limited located at Room 1201, Star House, Tsim

Sha Tsui where "the tragedy" took place on 4th April 1979.

(iv) Prior to 4th April, 1979, Your Petitioner was

dismissed and re-employed temproarily in R. & A. Millett

(Shops) Limited until he could seek another employment,

he was then in a subordinate position and to some extent

under the direction of the deceased.

(v) There was some evidence (during the trial) about the

relation between the deceased and Your Petitioner not

being good, and it was apparently part of the Crown's

suggestion (rather than case) that Your Petitioner wanted

the deceased's job because Your Petitioner's position

in R. & A Millett (Shops) Limited was subsitituted by the

deceased. Anyhow, on the 4th April, 1979 the deceased

died of stabbed wounds which punctured the right lung

when it is clear that Your Petitioner was alone with

the deceased in his office and Your Petitioner was

holding a knife.
