Previously, the Prisoner and his family lived at No. 55 stone hut, Choi Yuen Village, Fanling. Two years ago, they were resettled at Rm. 1029, Chi wo riouse, wo Che ustate, Shatin. The cubicle consisted of 2 bedrooms, at #350 monthly. The Frisoner shared one of the bedrooms with his brother, HO Siu-kei. The home environment was fair.

The Frisoner's associates were mainly his coworkers and previous neighbours. ile claimed to have no close friends and he merely went out with his younger brother, C Siu-kei, during his leisure hours.

The Prisoner was described to be a quiet person whose outside activities were unknown to his parents. As he had been living away from home for almost 7 years, he claimed that is friends and activities should be more clear to his brother-in-law, rir. CHAN Bing-chuen, than himself. Throughout these years, he believed that the Prisoner was well taken care of by his brother-in-law and was unaware of the grudge that existed between the Frisoner and Mr. CHAN and thought that it was only that the Prisoner got bored with his job which led him to change as a guard in the Hong kong Guard Ltd. the present offence, he could not tell whether the Frisoner had actually committed the murder crime.
