Petitioner appreciated very much the kindness shown to him by the Court and that he would not be separated from his family again. A few months later, he ceased to be a partner of the apartment house.

On 1st October, 1979, Your Petitioner decided to open a car-repairing company in Tsuen Wan with his friend
On 19th October, 1979, in settling
a dispute for his friend, Your Petitioner unconsciously fell into his present plight.
The case involved a dangerous drugs transaction in which CHAK Wun-chun was the key figure.
the deceased who is the murdered, was the courier in this transaction and it was him who sold the dangerous drugs to CHÁK Wun-chun, CHAK as the first defendant who was later acquitted by the C.I.D. Another man who was involved in the case was WONG Hon-kwai. He was the prosecution witness and in the dangerous drugs transaction, he acted as the representative of CHAK Wun-chun.
On 16th October, 1979, in the afternoon, the above three men met in a place where the transaction took place. However, something unexpected happened.
was arrested by two males who identified themselves as detectives. One of them claimed that WONG was found in possession of dangerous drugs and he had to bring WONG back to the police station. Later, WONG Chun-leung gave a call to CHAK telling him that he has paid a sum of forty thousand dollars to the detective for his freedom. He also asked CHAK why there was such a coincidence that day and he requested CHAK to give him an explanation as soon as possible. WONG also asked CHAK to give him ten thousand dollars as compensation. As Your Petitioner was a friend of CHAK, so CHAK requested Your Petitioner to explain the matter to
so as to avoid further misunderstanding between them. As a result, on 19th October, 1979, in the afternoon, Your Petitioner, acted as a mediator, went to meet
(This is the only point which indicated that Your Petitioner was involved in the case; but in fact, he was in no way connected to it.) In the interview, WONG admitted that he should bear part of the responsiblity and agreed to give sixteen thousand and five hundred dollars to CĦAK.

About ten days later, on 2nd November, 1979, Your Petitioner was arrested by the police for the first time and he was told that he was involved in the case. He explained to the police that he was not involved and related to them the interview between Your Petitioner and
Subsequently, he was released by the police.

However, three days later, i.e. on 5th November, 1979, Your Petitioner was again arrested by the police and charged with murder. On 16th June, 1980, he was 'convicted and on 30th September, his appeal was allowed. A retrial was conducted and
on 24th April, 1981, he was again convicted of murder. His appeal was subsequently dismissed on 23rd March, 1982 and now Your Petitioner is in Stanley Prison.
