Το
Amend the offences against the Person Ordinance.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with
the advice and consent of the Legislative Council
thereof.
Short title.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the offences
against the Person (Amendment) Ordinance 1982.
Amendment of section 42. (Cap. 212.)
2.
Section 42 of the principal Ordinance is amended
by deleting "fourteen years" and substituting the
following
#life".
Explanatory Memorandum
The object of this Bill is to increase the
maximum sentence for kidnapping from 14 years'
imprisonment to life imprisonment.
2.
This Bill will not involve any significant
additional Government expenditure or public service
staffing requirement.
