SUMMARY

5

The Prisoner was brought up in a rural family with inadequate parental love and guidance. At the same time, he had received little education and moral training. Hence, the Prisoner was grown up to be almost an illiterate with a simple minded, straight forward and impulsive temperament. After he came to Hong Kong, the Prisoner had been engaged in the trade of masonry over the past years and managed to earn himself an adequate livelihood. He remained single and lived independently. He had a few associates and all seemed to be decent characters. He was not reported to have undesirable habit although he enjoyed drinking beer and played mahjong at times. As regards his offence, the Prisoner denied his responsibility and saw no wrong on his part in it. However, being an adult of thirty-nine and with his social experience, he should be fully aware of the consequence of his offence.
