F. INTERVIEW WITH THE PRISONER

The Prisoner was interviewed at the Stanley Prison on 14.7.1981. During the course of interview, the Prisoner was rather reserved to disclose his background in detail. Obviously, he was very disappointed by the dismissal of his appeal and thus adopted a carefree attitude when interviewed. He also held a defensive attitude towards the murder offenre. He tended to put the blame on the deceased as he had accused that it was the deceased who initiated the struggle. The Prisoner recalled that he had only tried to defend himself with a knife and had no intention to kill the deceased. He stressed that the unfortunate killing was actually the result of a scuffle between him and the deceased. He made no particular request regarding his sentence.
