eventually married another girl despite that they two had been close friends for some while before. Miss HUNG was also the landlady of the flat in Smithfield Road which the prisoner had rented and lived for a few years. Miss HUNG claimed that it was under the induction of the prisoner that she had become a Christian. The prisoner used to be an active church-goey while he was still at school. After marriage, the prisoner did not go to church as often as before. Though Miss HUNG still accepted datings occasionally from the prisoner, she claimed she did not have good understanding of his general situation as they seldom talked about it. She however believed the prisoner was engaged in decent employment for most of the time. Despite the present offence, Miss HUG maintained the impression that the prisoner was helpful and sciable, and was not an ungrateful character.

She believed the prisoner had maintained his Christian belief all the time. Miss HUNC claimed she could hardly believe the prisoner would have been involved in the present offence, and wished he could have another chance for an appeal.

Miss CHAN was the prisoner's immediate supervisor when he worked there as a sales representative from 19.2.79 to 30.4.79. His job mainly involved contacts with the buyers, showing them electronic watch samples, and receiving payments from the company's customers. It was said that the prisoner could generally manage to perform his duties satisfactorily. At the end of April 79, the prisoner however suddenly disappeared himself together with a cash cheque of around $10,000 received from a customer. The company had not reported to police about this dishonest act. As a person, the prisoner had impressed. Miss CHAN to be talkative and sociable. Besides this, she also overheard some indirect comments from the company's customers that the prisoner was som what smart but cunning.
