The deceased employed a personal secretary Miss CHEUNG Shuk-yee. On 27th June 1979, she returned from a........
business luncheon sometime after 3 p.m. and tried to gain entry into the deceased's room. Despite knocking on the door for some time, there was no response from inside.
Then
suddenly the door opened, and two young men rushed out of the room and made good their escape down the rear staircase.
They were carrying knives.

The security guards of the hotel later gained entry into the room and found the deceased laying on his back covered in blood. There were bloodstains on the wall and
a pool of blood on the floor. Clothing was scattered every- where. It was apparent that a struggle had taken place and
the room ransacked. There was also evidence to suggest that
the body of the deceased had been moved from the entrance to
his bedroom into the bathroom.

A search was conducted of the rear staircase at the
hotel and two knives were found, one on the landing between
the 10th and 11th floors and the other on the landing between
the 8th and 9th floors. Bloodstains were found on both knives.
MEDICAL EVIDENCE

A post-mortem examination of the deceased revealed
that he had sustained 8 stab wounds on the body. The fatal
wound was one 55 mm long and 140 mm deep in the middle of the back which severed the main airway and the blood vessels of the right lung.
