Mr. CHUM
Mr. CHUM claimed to have known the Prisoner when they were both serving their sentence in Stanley Prison about eight years ago. They became close friends after their respective releases from prison. had shared rented accommodation with the Prisoner for almost a year and it was through the Prisoner's introduction that fir. CiUM secured the same job of a sales representative in electrical appliances as the Prisoner. while Mr. CHUM commented the frisoner to be an impulsive, thoughtless and childish person, the Prisoner was also said to have rather smooth relationships with
Mr. CHUM Mr. CHUM so that they had lived together peacefully for so long.
Therefore, claimed that the Frisoner hoped to start his own music studio. the Prisoner took part in the robbing of the illegal gambling after Mr. CHUM was repeatedly asked by a friend Yu win-sang to do the robbery. Mr. CHUM did not deny the part he himself played in the present offence, he stated that the Prisoner did not possess a revolver or pistol during the robbery. For this reason, he begged that the Prisoner be leniently dealt with.

According to records of the Stanley Training Centre, the Prisoner was admitted on 26.10.1970. He was granted home leave on 13.7.1971 but as he failed to return after that, the police was informed on 18.7.1971. During his residence at the Training Centre, the Frisoner had adjustment problems upon admission but he lated adapted himself well to the life at the Training He Centre and his performance reached the required standard for home leave. was considered quite an active person who was fond of reading.

He was thin and short and 27.10.1980. He was expressive and co-operative.
he wore a sad face throughout the interview. He frankly admitted his past unruly behaviour and also his profound association with triads. He considered his problems to have been caused by an unfavourable home environment and the presence of a step-father in the family. He claimed to have strongly rejected. his step-father and not until his present offence did he realize that his step-father had no ill-feelings towards him. with regard to the present offence, the Prisoner confirmed that he had participated in the robbery for the purpose of obtaining money in order to start his own music studio but he firmly denied to have killed the Deceased because he claimed to have no revolver in his hands. He alleged himself to be holding a plastic bag for collecting the loot. He, therefore, felt that the death sentence was unfair for him and he requested that the sentence be reviewed.
