(1)
On 29th February, 1979, your humble Petitioner was convicted in the
B
High Court of Hong Kong, upon a verdict of a Jury of seven persons, of the
offence of murdering LAU Chak-no, and was for that offence sentenced to suffer
death in the manner as prescribed by law.
(2)
On 13th March, 1980 the appeal of your humble Petitioner was dismissed
by the Court of Appeal and on 18th December 1981 your humble Petitioner's Petition
to the Privy council was dismissed and he is now a condemned prisoner awaiting
execution for the offence of murder.
(3)
Your humble Petitioner is seeking the mercy of your Excellency the
Governor to save him from this punishment.
(4)
Your humble Petitioner is now aged 29, having been born on 5th November
1952 in Hong Kong and has since lived continuously in this Colony. He received
schooling up to Primary 4 level. He is still single.

in various construction sites and factories.
Your humble Petitioner first worked as a motor car apprentice.
Before arrest he was a salesman.
Then
(6) Apart from the present offence, your humble petitioner has had previous
criminal convictions and accepts those as recorded in the official criminal
record.

Your humble Petitioner accepts and avers that by killing the deceased
he has offended against the law of this Colony and morality in the most grievous
manner. He accepts and avers that nothing can be urged on his behalf in relation
to the offence itself.
