As a person, the prisoner was considered to be gentle, courteous and helpful. He always kept the peace and behaved properly. However, he was regarded to be rather introvert because he seldom complained or voiced out his grievances to the family. Thus, it was hard to understand his inner feeling. The mother regretted for her ignorance of the prisoner's deteriorated friendship with his girlfriend, otherwise, she would have given him her emotional support and prevented him from doing such a silly thing. Madam LEE prayed for clemency to commute her son's death sentence, so that he would have a chance to be discharged someday and turn a new leaf.

She considered that the prisoner was cheerful, active, sporty and sociable. He was responsible towards the family and having a strong sense of pride. Being in opposite sex the prisoner seldom disclosed his feelings to her. However the prisoner did not impress her to be brutal in character. Like her mother she prayed for leniency to her brother.

He disclosed that he and the prisoner had different social circles. Only occasionally, they went swimming and cycling. Thus, he did not understand the prisoner well. However, he considered that the prisoner was gentle and less fond of excitement as he. Sometimes, when the prisoner was depressed, they raced motor-cycle at mid-night without the knowledge of their mother. Apart from that, the elder brother did not observe any abnormal behaviour on him which might throw light onto his present offence. Thus, he believed that the offence was committed without premeditation but out of emotional impulse. He opined that the sentence was too harsh for his brother whose girlfriend should be partly responsible for the tragedy. He also begged to have the prisoner's sentence commuted.

She expressed that her relationship with the prisoner was the best among the siblings. She loved and respected this brother most for his contribution and concern for the family. However, she found that the prisoner liked to talk about his achievements more than his setbacks. The family was in no position to read into his mind and his affairs with his girlfriend.

She described the prisoner to be gentle, amiable and helpful. He seldom bursted into violence. However, he tended to be argumentative and could not stand criticism and failures. The present offence was considered to have been committed out of impulsion as a result of losing his beloved girlfriend. It had ruined his future. She believed that the prisoner was very sorry for his misdeed and prayed for leniency to her brother.

Miss WONG was the core of the conflict between the deceased and the prisoner. She felt sorry for the deceased as she considered herself being indirectly responsible for his death. However, she regarded the prisoner unreasonable in killing the deceased.
