I am a Hong Kong citizen, aged 24, male, named LAM Kwai- tim. I write this letter for I would like to get political protection for your government, or, at least, pay attention to this case.
Although my English is not quite well, I seriously declare the following case is truth in the defination of oppressed by the Hong Kong government and other persons. Several noted persons in Hong Kong are being deeply involved.
The case is concerning about homosexuality, however, it is mainly about how the government of long Kong oppresses her own citizen.
The background of the case begin in September, 1976, the year that I enter Lingnan College (college here means a school which offer post-secondary level education; in Hong Kong there are many schools offer post-secondary level courses, a few are recognized by the Hong Kong government. Most of them are dis- approved. Lingnan College gained the government approval in October, 1978 was only a government policy for the government would like to make a balance mainly because of the Hong Kong Baptist College claimed university status at that time. Moreover, in Chinese, there is a difference between a recognized post-secondary college, it named Hok Yuen and Hok Yuen means a post-secondary school which has academic standing. A non- recognized post-secondary college named Shue Yuen and Shue Yuen only menas a place to learn. Meanwhile, there is no difference in English, they are all named college. So that Lingnan College (Shue Yuen) become Lingnan Hok Yuen after that. Ilowever, the name Shue Yuen is originally come from Song Dynasty (A.D. 960- 1279) in ancient China, which means an private education institution of higher learning.) in Sub-Freshman class. Next year, I promoted to Freshman class, my major is Chinese. Since then, I find that both the department and the college are getting trouble; lack of teacher, out-of-date curriculum, in- equality of grading, un-qualify teachers, etc., to make me feel that I should choose another college to continue my schooling.
