Dear Sir,

I was greatly surprised to hear that Miss Christine Vertucci's visa

would not be renewed.

Miss Vertucci has been in Hong Kong for four years, and I have known her for most of that time. I have had the opportunity of personally seeing her put her commitment and expertise at the service of the under-privileged of Hong Kong. I have also seen how much her services were appreciated by these people.

Hong Kong has made great progress in the past few years. However I do not think we have reached the stage where we can dispense with the dedicat- ion and professional skills of a person like Miss Vertucci.

So I appeal to you, Sir, to have the decision about Miss Vertucci re- considered, and her visa renewed.

Sincerely,

to you.
