Sir Murray MacLehose Governor
Government House
Hong Kong
26 January, 1982
Dear Sir Murray,
I am writing to you at this time regarding a friend of mine,
Miss Christine Vertucci.
Christine has been working in Hong Kong for over four years
and recently applied for an extension of her visa. Although she
applied well in advance (on December 18, 1981), she was not informed
until late in the afternoon of January 22, 1982, that her visa would
not be extended. To my knowledge, no explanation was given regarding
the refusal to renew her vise.
May I ask you, Sir, to kindly look into this case to see the
rationale behind the refusal of the Director of Immigration to renew
the visa of this person? Christine is carrying a U.S.A. passport,
★☛ a qualified lawyer, and has done nothing contrary to the laws of
Hong Kong. I am puzzled as to the reasons for her inability to renew
her visa.
Respectfully,
Mary Ellen Meters
Respektfully, Mary Ellen Mertens, Ground Floor, Room 5, 100, Tsui Ping Road Kwun Tong, Kowloon.
