We are most concerned to hear that the Hongkong Immigration Department kas decided not to renew Christine Vertucci's work permit, thereby preventing her from continuing her work as joint director of Asia Monitor.
The work of the Asia Monitor is of a high standard, and is much valued abroad. In our view) this decision is quite unjustified and can only prejudice Hongkong's reputation for respecting liberty of opinion and free speech. We therefore ask you to reconsider your decision.
