The news of your refusal came as something of a small shock. But given the context of some of the problems that Rosana Chan was having, it is not surprising.
I have sent off, under my own name, a letter requesting that this decision be reviewed in the light of the very useful work that is being carried out by the Centre. I was not, unfortunately, able to link this to the OECD. The policy here is not to allow staff to speak on behalf of the organization in even the most mild problems. I understand this policy, and have respected it.
I am not sure that the letter under my own flag will have the same institutional 'pull' that another would, but we will try.
Let me know as soon as you can what has happened. I shall try to be back through Hong Kong once again soon, and at that point, we may be able to make arrangements for more substantial support.
I have not heard from Rosoana Chan for sometime, and as her case was somewhat desperate, I hope that things have worked out. Let me know if I can do anything else.
