Visa requirements for visits to Germany

The Chairman, Urban Council, brought Mr. Atkins' attention to this matter Germany was the only EEC country which required visas from Hong Kong citizens for each and every visit. This was irksome, time-consuming and appeared difficult to justify. Mr. Lawrence Fung underat That the German requirements may well be dropped if the British Government undertook to receive Hong Kong passport holders deported from Germany for one reason and another

Mr. Atkins himself mentioned in very broad terms the discussions he had had with the Authorities in the Peoples' Republic but did not go into specific details.
