'economic adventure'. One was under the impression
that one of the crew members would marry her.

Neither listened to VOA/BBC. All 3 would have stayed in Vietnam if they thought there was no chance for resettlement or a possibility of repatriation. The former Govt.officer's claimed he would have joined another group consisting of only former government servants in the future.
