The objectives of the meeting were to obtain an RA view on the likely impact on their operations of an airport in Deep Bay and to ascert in whether any long term plans for Shek song would conflict with airport operations.

3. Ar Sexton tabled a plan for the site area which showed in broad

a pair of parallel runways, parallel in alignment with the

In general terms, departures to and arriv ls from the South West posed no particular problems with the exce tion of direct everfliht of lung wan Island by arriv ls onto the runways of option (ii).

Jepartures to the north east, with early turns to the south and south west, were clearly the most likely to impinge upen operations at Shek avili. Mr Sexto: 5.. wed a number of provizi nál routes currently under investigation which passed at varying distances and altitudes to the west of Shek Kon “. de provides data on the distance of nearest approach and altituie for these routes on the basis of an assumed 6, cling from the end of CLA and 4000 m ralius of turn commencing at 500 ft GL, with all engines operating.

He also gave data for a single engine o.t case. Cathay Pacific were in the process of examining engine cut routes in general ters for their B747 and Tristar operati ns.
