5. Pending reunification the stability and
prosperity of Hong Kong are in the interests of the
Chinese people, including the people of Hong Kong,
and the policies of the Government of the PRC will
continue to respect these principles.
(VI)
Nothing in the foregoing shall prejudice the well-
known position of either Party on the question of sovereignty.
