Dear Mr Bridgewater
I shall be attending at a study tour in Hong Kong from 15 May - 23 May organised by the Chartered Institution · of Building Services and I am extending my stay until 29 May to enable me to see a number of projects and to meet public officials.
I understand that Mr Asquith has spoken to you about my visit and that you and Mr Osborne have very kindly agreed to organise a meeting with PWD staff and show me some installations. I am most grateful.
Gerry has suggested that I might find the Prince of Wales Hospital, the Queen Mary Hospital re-development, the United Christian Hospital project, the new airport project and mass transit railway system interesting. Would it be possible to see some of these? I would welcome your views on how I should spend my time during the second week of my stay but I should like to meet Mr March, Mr Chung and Mr Coles who have also been advised of my. visit. Would it be possible for you to co-ordinate the arrangements for my programme?
I understand that the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers would like me to talk to them on 26 May. I would be happy to do so and also to discuss with you maintenance matters in general.

On the basis that "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", I should very much like to spend a day visiting mainland China. I would appreciate your advice on how one should go about this, e.g. obtaining visa, etc.
I enclose a copy of a letter which has been sent to Messrs. March, Chung and Coles, and look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely
John Bolton.
JOHN BOLTON
