Prime Minister's Far Easterr. Tour
Mr Coles at No 10 has asked whether the FCO could provide for the Prime Minister's use on her Far East tour a daily sitrep on the most important international issues at the time. This would be as short as possible and would only deal with matters of particular current interest or those likely to be of special interest to the Prime Minister while she is in the Far East. Could Planning Staff take on this task for the duration of the Far East tour? I understand that a telegram leaving here at close of play could be available to the Prime Minister first thing in the morning in the Far East.
I am arranging separately for posts to be asked to repeat important telegrams to the appropriate capital during the tour.
