Thank you for your letter of 10 September.
Mr. Thatcher agrees:

(a) To have a short meeting with the Hong Kong and Yaumati
Ferry Company on 28 September.
(b)
To be briefed that day on the redevelopment of the Headquarters of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank.
(c) That the Senior British Trade Commissioner in Hong Kong
should call on him early in the evening of 26 September.
The programme enclosed with your letter is thus generally acceptable, and we are most grateful for it, but:
(a)
On Tuesday, 21 September, Mr. Thatcher would like the golf engagement to be deleted, and a meeting arranged instead with Mr. P.W. Simmons, Far East Executive of Quinton Hazel International Ltd., whose address is c/o Dodwell & Co. Ltd., Kowa No.1 Building, 11-14 Akasaka 1-Chome, Minato-KU, Tokyo.
(b) On the afternoon of Tuesday, 28 September, Mr. Thatcher
would like to be excluded from most of the present programme, and instead visit Jardine Matheson at the World Trade Centre, Causeway Bay. The visit should be arranged through Mr. Simon Sherard. Mr. Thatcher would be willing to fall in with whatever timing is suitable to Jardine Matheson.
