The Council noted the contents of memorandum XCRI (82) 29.
The Secretary for Home Affairs reported that the
Rt. Hon. Roland Moyle, Labour Member for Lewisham East,
would also be invited to make a sponsored visit. Dr Harry Fang

reported that Mr Hugh Rossi, Conservative Member for Haringey
(Hornsey) and Minister of State for Social Security and the
Disabled, was to pay a visit to Hong Kong for the FESPIC games,
and asked whether a programme could be organised for him on
the terms set out in paragraph 8 of the memorandum.

Members expressed the view that two Social Democratic
MOTL PARAS CIT Party MPs should be added to the list of sponsored visitors.
On Mr D.K. Newbigging's suggestion, it was agreed that peers
should be eligible for short official programmes if passing
through Hong Kong

Miss L. Dunn suggested, and some Members agreed, that
mixed party groups might sometimes be more fruitful than
representatives of a single party.
