The latest draft programme for the Prime Minister's

visit to Hong Kong is that given in the attached telegram

876 of 16 August from Hong Kong. (A copy of this was

sent to Alan Logan by Michael Hall under cover of his

letter of 20 August). This draft is based on

the outline programme approved earlier by the Prime

Minister. The only addition is the inclusion of a short

meeting between the Prime Minister and a delegation of

Urban Councillors on Monday, 27 September, in support of which

John Holmes wrote to Fim Flesher on 27 August. The Prime

Minister's arrival time in Hong Kong (at present shown

as 12.25) is dependent on whether she visits Canton.

If she visits Canton, her arrival in Hong Kong would be

about 16.00 hours. I understand that Mr Thatcher's

programme as given in paragraphs 12 and 13 of

Hong Kong Telegram 876 has been approved by No 10.
