PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO THE FAR EAST:
PROBLEM
1.
To advise No 10 which routes the Prime Minister's aircraft
might take on her visit to the Far East in September.
RECOMMENDATION
2. That the Prime Minister's aircraft should fly to the Far
East via Elmendorf in Alaska and return via New Delhi and Bahrain,
and that the stops should be technical (i e that no meetings with
local political leaders should be arranged). FED, HKGD, EESD, SAD
and MED concur. I submit a draft letter to No 10.
ARGUMENT
3. This is contained in the draft letter to No 10 (copy attached).
