We have been working on the basis that the period available for the proposed visit by the Prime Minister to China, Hong Kong and Japan is 16-29 September. This period remains available but I have been asked to emphasise that the Prime Minister must be back in London not later than Wednesday, 29 September because of the Conservative Party Conference the following week. You will wish to bear this requirement in mind in case any of the potential hosts suggest a later return to the United Kingdom.
