I am enclosing a letter from the News Editor of the Pai
Shing Semi-Monthly in Hong Kong who is seeking an interview with the Prime Minister early next month.
I am afraid there is no prospect of the Prime Minister
seeing Mr Wong next month. But depending on your views of him and his publication, it might be possible if he were to be in London later in the year to include him in any briefings or group interviews that the Prime Minister might give before
leaving for her visit to the Far East. However, it would be premature at this stage to give him any encouragement.
For the moment please could you consider whether or not another Minister might see Mr Wong and arrange for him to receive a reply to his letter. You may also wish to consider
whether or not COI might be able to give him some assistance during his visit. Could you please let me have a copy of your reply for our files.
Yours
