Yet another Government amendment enables, amongst others, British Dependent Territories citizens to be registered as British citizens after five years' ordinary residence in the United Kingdom. [This amendment also gives a route to British citizenship to BDTCs who are officials or unofficials in the dependency's Government and who have given exceptional service to the Crown. 1
