Visit by Lord Privy Seal
I forward herewith an account of the visit by Rt. Hon. Mr. Humphrey Atkins, Lord Privy Seal and his party to Queen Elizabeth Hospital on 8th January 1982. His party consisted of the following members:-

Lord Privy Seal and his party, accompanied by His Excellency the Governor Sir Murray Macle hose, arrived at Queen Elizabeth Hospital at 14.15 hours. They were met by:

Upon arrival, the Lord Privy Seal and his party went immediately to the library of the hospital where he was briefed by and discussed with the D.M.H.S. the Medical and Health Services in Hong Kong. The main points brought up were:-

The history and development of the Medical & Health Services in Hong Kong. In particular a thorough description was given of the needs of the population and the work done in preventive and curative medicine. These had produced the excellent health indices for Hong Kong in spite of the impact of acute population pressures.
