Over the last 3 years US exports of textile yarn and fabrics increased from HK $293 billion in 1979 to HK 407 billion in 1981, whilst UK exports decreased from HK $215 billion to HK $186 billion.
A fresh initiative suggested by the HKTAG to bring the major Hong Kong garment manufacturers to the UK to meet with UK textile manufacturers
is now under consideration.
