3. There is a career Consulate in Salonika and career Vice-Consulates in Piraeus, Heraklion, and Corfu, all in rented accommodation. There are also Honorary Vice- Consulates in Samos, Kavalla, Rhodes and Patras.
Residential Accommodation
4. HM Ambassador's Residence, which is adjacent to the main Chancery offices, is PSA-owned having been bought in 1936 for £45,000 from the wife of the former Greek Prime Minister, Venizelos.
5. There are 37 UK-based staff at post accommodated as follows:
(a) 1 (2.7 per cent)-PSA-owned. (b) 1 (2.7 per cent)-PSA-rented.
(c) 22 (59.5 per cent)-Post Hirings
(d) 13 (35-1 per cent.)-Rent Allowance Hirings.
6. A list giving details of staff accommodation is attached. The basic annual rent bill is approximately £77,380.
7. In addition it is customary for the PSA to rent a suitable villa near the sea from May to October every year for use as HM Ambassador's Summer Residence. The rent of the villa used in the 1975 season was £4,280.
