WORLD ASSEMBLY ON AGING : HONG KONG
1/ Malcolm Hilson has copied to us your letter to him of 25 March. I believe he has told you that Hong Kong will probably attend the Assembly as part of the UK delegation.
2. I can assure you that Hong Kong's enquiry about representation in their own right was not intended to have any political overtones and that they are fully aware of Chinese sensitivities. Hong Kong are quite content to be represented through the UK on international bodies which do not allow dependent.territories to participate in their own right.
