The Presidency of the Council of the European Communities presents its compliments to the Information Officers of the Member States and has the honour to invite them to fill in
and return the attached questionnaire on joint European Community information activity during the past year.
The Council has decided to simplify the system of annual reports by Information Officers originally decided in 1972. In future, a questionnaire will be sent each year and the answers to it will constitute the annual report for the country concerned, A substantive reply from Brussels will only be sent if the answers to the questionnaire call for specific follow-up action or comment by the Council and Commission.
Also enclosed is a revised brochure on resources available
for joint information activity in third countries (second edition). Information Officers are invited to make maximum
use of these resources, contacting the information Directorate-
General of the Commission.
