1.
The PUS is grateful for the work which has been done to revise papers for the Heads of Mission Conference in Bangkok, as attached to your minute of 26 November to PS/Lord Belstead. The PUS would welcome the chance to see Lord Belstead on his return to hear his impressions of the Conference, and of course his impressions of his visit to Hong Kong. The PUS hopes that you and Mr Giffard will do what you can to ensure that the Heads of Mission Conference in Bangkok is a provocative and brain- storming session.
2. As far as discussion of Hong Kong at the Conference is concerned, the PUS suggests that Lord Belstead might give a short indication of the present position, but doubts if there is any point in much discussion.
