I have been reading with interest Research Department's recent paper on Macau. However, there are a number of questions to which I should be grateful for answers as follows:
2.
(a)
(b)
(c)
(d)
(e)
How are Macau's defence forces made up?
Is defence in the hands of the Portuguese or is there any kind of local militia?
What flag does Macau fly and what is its policy on flags?
Is the Taiwanese flag allowed to be flown?
What is Macau's National Anthem? If it is not the Portuguese National Hymn or Anthem is that nonetheless ever played?
I note that there is an element of election to the Legislative Assembly. Are there any other forms of elections held eg, Urban or District Boards of any kind?
Is there still a large Portuguese expatriate element in the public service in Macau?
Or are all the top posts held by local Chinese?
I
It would be very helpful to have answers to as many of the above questions as possible by early next week. imagine you may need to consult Research Department.
