SCHWEDISCHES FERNSEHEN

17th June, 1982.

Ian Kidd, Esq., 10 Downing Street, W.1.

Dear Ian,

Given the conditions for this sort of thing, there may be other and spontaneous questions. But we'll keep those to a minimum. We have structured the talk thus:

1. The Falklands conflict (after a short intro by me) lead mainly by Sweden

(Sune Kempe). Questions will be predictable, to include the loss of life, fortress Falklands, Argentine involvement, Antarctica, etc. We'll try to conclude with other potential trouble spots like Brunei, Hongkong and Gibraltar. Approx. 10'.

2. The international implications, lead mainly by Norway (01e Kristen Harborg).

There will be questions on the possible weakening of NATO, on the role of the United Nations and its secretary general, on trusteeship and on the structure of UK relationships generally. The bridge will be lead to (after about 7')

3.

The Common market and the world economic crisis. lead mainly by Denmark (Claus Toksvig). The questions will be linked to Denmark's coming chairman- ship and the failure of the British PM to visit Denmark, but the wider aspect of the Veto-debate and the Versailles meeting will be raised. At about 27' Norway will ask supplementaries, then at 30' Sweden, and then the last two minutes will be afterthoughts and a final Thank you.

The staff from us will include the three reporters plus Mr. Bo Järborg of Swedish Radio, and Mrs. Margaret de Penning as note taker.

I hope this is enough. Otherwise, we can talk further in the next few days. My home phone number over the weekend is 74-41334.

Many thanks again.

Yours sincerely,

Clam

Claus Toksvig
