HKC crew will receive a 150% bonus on
their pay for service in the war zone and an enhanced compensation for death or injury
If Pressed UK RFA crews also receive a 150% bonus on their pay.
HKC crew will receive payment equivalent to UK RFA crews for service in the war zone. Compensation for death will be the same as for UK RFA crews. Injury benefits are still
to be finalised.
If Pressed Death benefit will be £26,000 of which £15,000 has already been paid.

SIR GALAHAD is expected to be a total loss and SIR TRISTRAM awaits survey.

Guns were fitted to a number of RFAs for their self defence.
Their Merchant status was not affected.

We understand that a number of promises were made to HKC crew members in particular. Is it true to say that the se promises were broken?
No guarantees could be given. You will appreciate that the Commander of the Task Force had to use all the resources at his disposal in the way best suited to ensure the eventual success of the Operation. This action was clearly designed to ensure the maximum possible safety of all personnel involved in the Task Force.
