PR ARRANGEMENTS FOR HONG KONG CHINESE SURVIVORS FROM RFA SIR GALAHAD AND RFA SIR TRISTRAM

29/6 1. At Annex A is a note of the organisational details for handling the PR when the survivors arrive at Brize Norton on Thursday 24 June.

2.

At Annex B is a Background Q and Q brief for use on that occasion and when the survivors arrive in Hong Kong on Saturday

26 June. A representative of RFA management will fly out to Hong Kong and assist with the FR at Hong Kong.

3.

A meeting is taking place at the Treasury at 1030 on Thursday 24 June. The outcome of that meeting will decide whether the more or less favourable responses on pay and allowances can be given. I am hopeful of a favourable outcome.

4. I would be grateful if you could indicate by 1200 on Thursday 24 June whether Minister (AF) is content with the Q and A material.
