4. The contribution to the South Atlantic Fund is no longer a
live issue in Hong Kong, having been overtaken by more pressing public concerns. Hong Kong do not think the letter justifies a detailed reply. However, Lord Belstead may wish to know that Hong Kong's public position on the contribution was and remains as in Hong Kong telegram No.707 of 2 July.
