HONG KONG AFTER THE FALKLAND ISLANDS CRISIS

Public attention is likely to turn towards HMG's policy towards other Dependent Territories, particularly Hong Kong, in view of the crisis over the Falkland Islands. We need, therefore, some questions and answers for defensive use by News Department, and possibly also for use in answer to PQs.

A suggested set is attached. If they are agreed, I will telegraph them to Hong Kong and Peking for comments. We are also preparing a minute on the general implications of the Falkland Islands problem for Hong Kong.
